Retreat Weekend!...August 7-9

Harvest of Hope is a mission retreat program and a fun and economical way to get involved in the fight against hunger and learn about why hunger exists in this country and around the world. August 7-9, 2009 HoH will host an intergenerational event in Gaston , SC. We’ll be staying at Bethel Christian Camp for the weekend, where we’ll spend time in large and small group sessions learning about the causes of hunger and how we as Christians can respond. Saturday morning, August 8, we’ll hit the fields of Lexington County knowing that through SoSA’s network of feeding agencies, much of what we’ll pick that morning will be on the tables of the hungry that evening. Cost for the weekend is $75/person, which includes lodging, meals, and materials. You will need money for meals in route, but other than that this is a very affordable weekend!  For many past participants HoH is a truly transformative experience!  See Pastor Mary Frances to sign up!  Deposit is $50.  We need one chaperone per five youth, so ask all the cool adults to be chaperones!  Depending on the interest, we might find somewhere to whitewater raft or hike on the way home!

August 11th…Beach Day!

Addy and Cayley’s grandparents are hosting us at their beach house for the day!  We will leave at 8am so we have plenty of time to soak up the rays!  BYOS = Bring Your Own Sandwich !  We will have drinks and snacks for you.  Bring money for dinner on the road!  We will come back in the evening tired, dirty, but hopefully not sunburned!  Please pre-register so we have enough drivers, snacks, and drinks!
